It's the middle of the night, as I am awoken to a soft whispering voice calling my name. As I peek into the hallway of my childhood home from bed, I see two softly glowing white orbs floating in the hallway about waste high. One orb is larger than the other, and the larger one repeatedly calls out to me asking if I'm okay. Hesitantly, I answer, "Yes, I'm okay." The glowing orb still repeatedly asks if I'm okay, growing afraid...I reach up to turn on the night light of my bed's headboard, and inadvertently turned over the potpourri pot just above the light switch. As I turn on the light I call out to my dad, and the orbs disappear.
This event occurred when I was around 5-6 years old, and I have come to interpret this encounter as my mother's final farewell before she took her eternal rest. I can still smell the magnolia and peach scented potpourri that spilled over into my bed that night.
This candle has a light/medium floral throw accentuated with a sweet fleshy peach. The magnolia and tonka bean interplay are deep and luxurious and serves as the heart of this candle.
